The story of a 'reputed' institute..

The so called reputed institute have given me enough experience for me to fill this space up. Where should I start from? The good times I spend with my friends? Or from the cunning teacher who have made our Post Graduate experience a sour one?

Amex institute (name changed) formed a very good impression on my first day. Teachers with their sweet and professional talk…I was sure I was in the right institute. But little did I know it was just a disguise. I stepped into that ‘reputed’ institute...all nervous and scared. Times quickly changed as I made really good friends and started getting comfortable to the new environment. A few weeks after my joining, we were told that they are shifting us to the new campus. We were quite excited. Well, on reaching the so-called ‘new’ campus …we were zapped….we couldn’t utter a word. The new campus was brand new...it was so new that it was still under construction. Yes, u read it right it was still under construction. There were disturbances and noise all around. They were still constructing the floor above us. Our classroom was huge and had just one window which could not be opened. There were only 6 fans. It used to be hot…and I guess everyone knows how hot Delhi can be. Anyways, we were all claustrophobic. Some student started having asthma attack and what not. During winter that year, we got our first AC. And then the following summer there were power cuts more than one can imagine.

It was just 2 or 3 days after being shifted to the ‘new’ campus while passing through the main entrance of our block…the whole thick glass door just broke and fell on my head. At first I thought I was dead and have reached heaven and just my soul was there watching the scene. But thankfully it was just an illusion. And thanks to almighty I managed to get only small bruises. But it was a scary sight…glass particles were all over my body. It makes me shiver every time I think about it. Anyways, on reporting this matter to my senior professor they were more concerned about whether I will be able to play basketball or not (we had some tournament the same day). I requested her to arrange for some medical assistance but well since I wasn’t bleeding profusely she didn’t care.

Months passed by….the experience started getting worse and worse. My friend made it through Kidzee’s campus placement interview. And they showed quite a positive sign to her. She kept waiting for weeks to hear from them. Later one day Kidzee officials called her up and asked her why she didn’t respond to their email. She was confused and asked them about the mail Id they sent it to. They got to know that they had mailed her offer letter to one of our senior professor. We thought our professor hasn’t checked her email but we got to know from our office personnel that she checks it regularly. Later on investigating the whole event…we got to know that she just didn’t bother to inform her coz my friend wasn’t one of her ‘favorites’.

I couldn’t give few papers in my 1st semester due to some personal reasons. After my 4th semester, authorities informed me that they will conduct my 1st semester paper after completion of my 4th semester papers. But the ‘esteemed’ institute couldn’t fix a date for a long time (which was a usual scenario). I went back home after my 4th semester paper (I am an out station student). I called them on regular intervals and finally I got to know that my exam has been scheduled for so n so date. To be on safer side I still called them up and confirmed about the examination date time and again. I booked my tickets and reached the ‘examination hall’ way before time. Minutes after that I got to know that my paper took place 2 days before and they didn’t inform me about the changes. I spoke to the concerned person (examination coordinator) and I was told that it was my entire fault. As furious as I ever been I wrote a letter to the president of the institute and he rescheduled it for a later date. My HOD called soon after my rescheduling thing happened. First, she talked all sweetly and later she was into her real self. Indirectly though directly threatened to reduce my marks for that paper because I informed or rather complained about the department to her ‘boss’ (President). She asked me to write her an apology letter. I was at first confused…she will be writing an apology letter or she is expecting me to write? Well, your guess is right I was told to write an apology letter for their mistake. They almost ruined my career and I was about to miss a year for their mistake and they expected me to write an apology letter. Hunh!!!...That was my answer to her order. Though I wrote a letter but I won’t say it was an ‘apology’ letter.

There are so many stories to tell but I guess I shouldn’t. Well, I have proved my point. Read and collect all information about the institute you want to go to. Search and re-search all about it. And talk to as many ex-students as u can. Adios!!
